Dry food for puppies of all breeds: contents and amounts

When you look for puppy kibble, you find separate offers for small, medium and large breeds. Crunchies has one puppy recipe: Fish Crunchies Puppy & Junior. It is for puppies and juniors of all breeds. Your dog’s size changes the amount, not the recipe.
What’s in the kibble
The composition on the label reads: “Extruded corn, fish meal, lard, corn gluten, whole dried eggs, fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS), vitamin and mineral complex, antioxidants.”
The base is a crunchy ball of extruded corn. Fish meal is applied to it at room temperature, made exclusively from whole white sea fish. We write more about this on the About the food page. It is a complete food and it’s made in Italy.
How it differs from adult kibble
Compared with the adult dog recipes, Puppy & Junior also has whole dried eggs and FOS in its composition. In the analytical constituents, the main difference is the protein:

So fat, calcium and phosphorus are the same as in the adult recipes.
How much kibble a day
The amount depends on your dog’s age and weight.

The values are in grams per day. So a dog in the 2–7 kg row, at 6–7 months old, gets 80–145 g a day, and one in the 20–46 kg row, at 3–6 months old, gets 370–530 g. For dogs up to 20 kg, the table gives no amount for 8–12 months.
Always make sure your dog has plenty of fresh water. Store the kibble at room temperature.
Pregnant and nursing females
The same recipe is also for pregnant and nursing females. But the table only covers puppies and young dogs by age and gives no amount for females. Ask your vet.
